The Huber Heights Police Division is pleased to announce that a major marijuana-growing operation has been shut down in the east part of the city.
On May 3, 2007 at @11:00 a.m. HHPD detectives, working with Greene County ACE Task Force, and the Federal DEA, executed a search warrant at 8489 Betal Drive, near the intersection of Taylorsville Road and Bellefontaine Road. As a result the teams found 352 marijuana plants growing inside this house, most of which were in elaborately constructed rooms that had special lighting and ventilation. There were also plants found outside the residence. Also located was what appears to be an eloaborate irrigation system made of PVC and many other items used in the process of growing this drug.
This is an on-going investigation and the homeowner has not been charged yet. The investigation is a joint one between the agencies listed.
More information will follow as it develops and is released by the investigators.
