Fatal Crash – 8000 Blk Chambersburg Road

Huber Heights Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 6:40 a.m. today in the 8000 block of Chambersburg Road. Preliminary investigation shows:
A black Ford Fusion was traveling west on Chambersburg Road and a Dodge Pick Up was eastbound on Chambersburg Road. In the 8000 block the Fusion made contact with the Dodge pick-up, breaking the rear axle completely off of the truck. The Fusion then continued into a front yard where it made contact with a white Chevrolet Van that was in the yard trying to avoid the crash. All three vehicles sustained crippling damage.
The drivers of the truck and van were removed to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries or their condition is not known at this time. The driver of the Ford Fusion was pronounced dead on the scene. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office investigators responded to the scene, as did the Technical Crash Investigation Team of HHPD and both are investigating this crash.
No names are being released yet pending notification of relatives of the victim. This crash remains under investigation and more information will follow as it is released by investigators.
